In the center of Canazei, surrounded by the breathtaking Dolomites, lies an attic apartment that reinterprets mountain living through a contemporary lens.
The project, designed by architect Lucio Merlini, blends clean lines, natural materials, and meticulous attention to detail, creating a bright and welcoming home that dialogues seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
The contribution of Fietta Prestige translates this architectural vision into a bespoke interior project, where craftsmanship and material coherence define each space.
Every piece of furniture was custom designed and handcrafted, reflecting the artisanal philosophy that distinguishes Fietta Prestige.
Surfaces in natural wood—carefully selected and finished—extend continuously across floors, walls, boiseries, and built-in elements, creating a warm, cohesive atmosphere.
The goal was to achieve a material and visual unity, where functionality and aesthetic balance coexist, eliminating unnecessary visual interruptions and enhancing the sense of spatial continuity.
The heart of the home is the open-plan living area, where the kitchen, dining, and lounge share a fluid and luminous space.
The bespoke kitchen features a striking contrast between the matte black worktop and the vertical oak surfaces. The handleless design enhances the purity of the forms, while the built-in appliances ensure both functionality and a minimalist aesthetic.
The dining area, with its wooden table and upholstered chairs, offers an inviting yet discreet ambiance—an ideal meeting point between conviviality and simplicity.
A custom-made shelving system in wood, glass, and metal completes the space, adding a sense of lightness through its open composition while maintaining visual coherence with the surrounding materials.
In the upper-level study and night area, wood remains the key element linking every room together. The boiserie panels follow the roof’s geometry, integrating seamlessly with sloped ceilings and concealing wardrobes and service spaces.
The result is a quiet and intimate environment, where natural materials contribute to a sense of wellbeing and comfort.
A built-in desk and discreet LED lighting define a functional workspace, blending aesthetics with practicality. Every detail has been designed to promote simplicity and order—hallmarks of the project’s overall approach.
Large glass openings extend the living space towards a panoramic terrace, offering stunning views of the surrounding forests and mountain peaks of Val di Fassa.
The relationship between interior and exterior is at the heart of the project: the warm tones of the oak continue outdoors, reflected in the neutral shades of the façade and furnishings, creating an elegant visual harmony with the alpine context.
