Holiday apartment in Alba di Canazei: bespoke interiors between contemporary design and alpine tradition

In the heart of the Dolomites, in Alba di Canazei, a residential project takes shape with the aim of redefining the concept of a mountain holiday apartment. A welcoming, sophisticated and highly functional environment where contemporary architectural language meets authentic materials and artisanal craftsmanship.

The interiors were designed by Architect Lucio Merlini and custom-made by Fietta Prestige, a company specialized in the production and installation of bespoke furniture for private residences, chalets, hotels and luxury apartments.

The project was conceived to create a space capable of conveying the warmth of the mountains without compromising comfort, ergonomics and aesthetic purity. Every area was carefully designed to offer an immersive, elegant and functional living experience, ideal for those who wish to experience the mountains through natural materials, intimate atmospheres and handcrafted furnishings.

A contemporary interior design project in the Dolomites

One of the defining elements of the project is the use of reclaimed old fir wood, selected for wall cladding, boiserie panels, wardrobes and custom-made furniture. This material gives character to the interiors, creating visual continuity and a strong connection with the surrounding alpine landscape. The textured wooden surfaces interact with neutral tones, contemporary technical details and integrated LED lighting, resulting in spaces with a strong emotional impact while remaining perfectly balanced.

The entrance immediately introduces the design concept: a hallway featuring natural fir wood elements, integrated seating and custom coat hooks creates a functional and organized space designed to welcome guests with elegance and practicality.

Bespoke kitchen: aesthetic balance, functionality and refined materials

The kitchen represents one of the focal points of the project. Custom-designed, it combines contemporary aesthetics with maximum functionality through a clean linear composition characterized by “lava-resin” finish doors, integrated handle profiles and a technical stone countertop in a sand-marina finish. Built-in appliances, under-cabinet LED lighting and integrated storage solutions optimize the available space while maintaining a visual coherence with the rest of the apartment.

The selection of materials and finishes contributes to creating a sophisticated yet welcoming environment, perfectly integrated into the identity of the residence. The kitchen was conceived not only as a functional workspace, but also as a place for gathering and conviviality, in direct continuity with the living area.

Living area: conviviality and alpine atmosphere

Particular attention was dedicated to the living area, conceived as a flexible and convivial environment. The long bench crafted in reclaimed fir wood integrates pull-out storage compartments, bespoke cushions and a large illuminated boiserie wall that enhances the depth of the space. The extendable dining table allows the dining area to adapt easily to different hospitality needs while always maintaining aesthetic balance and living comfort.

The main wall of the living room becomes a multifunctional architectural feature: wood cladding, suspended bench, integrated storage elements contribute to creating a warm and contemporary atmosphere, transforming the living area into an intimate and relaxing retreat. All technical components, from electrical outlets to inspection panels, were seamlessly integrated into the wall coverings to ensure maximum visual cleanliness.

Custom-designed bedrooms

The guest and children’s bedroom was also entirely custom-designed. Joinable beds, integrated wardrobes, wooden boiserie panels and a bespoke desk transform the room into a flexible and highly organized space. The project objective was not purely aesthetic, but also functional: every centimeter was optimized to provide comfort, organization and practicality during both short and extended stays.

The master bedroom is probably the most emotional space within the entire apartment. Walls clad in natural fir wood, integrated lighting, suspended bedside tables and the large bench beneath the window transform the room into a contemporary alpine retreat. The bespoke storage bed and custom-designed wardrobes ensure visual order and cleanliness without compromising storage capacity.

Contemporary bathroom design with warm materials

The bathroom reflects the same material philosophy found throughout the apartment. The fir wood vanity unit, technical stone countertop and backlit mirror interact with contemporary surfaces and minimal details, creating a refined and welcoming atmosphere. Here too, every solution was designed to maximize both functionality and stylistic continuity.

Bespoke production and installation by Fietta Prestige

From a production perspective, the project highlights Fietta Prestige’s ability to manage the entire process: from technical surveys and executive drawings to artisanal manufacturing, logistics and on-site installation in a mountain environment. Every furnishing element was specifically developed for this apartment, with tailor-made solutions designed to integrate perfectly within the spaces envisioned by Architect Lucio Merlini.

Attention to detail, construction quality and customization capabilities represent the core of the Fietta Prestige approach. Every element is created to ensure durability, ergonomics and aesthetic coherence, enhancing the dialogue between architecture, craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Bespoke luxury furnishings for mountain apartments

This project in Alba di Canazei perfectly represents the philosophy of Fietta Prestige: creating exclusive environments through a sartorial approach where design, craftsmanship and attention to detail become tools for building authentic spaces designed to stand the test of time.

In a context such as the Dolomites, characterized by a strong architectural and landscape identity, the customization of interiors acquires even greater value. It is not simply about furnishing a holiday apartment, but about designing a living experience that is coherent with the territory, capable of conveying well-being, comfort and a sense of belonging.

For Fietta Prestige, every project is a balance between aesthetics, functionality and construction quality. An approach that transforms wood, light and materials into narrative elements capable of shaping truly unique spaces.
